Excellent portable device for Web, MP3 player and...

Strengths: Excellent quality, near perfect form factor, useful applications, sharp screen for photos and videos

Weakness: Limited number of useful applications; screen brightness not uniform

This Nokia N800 is an excellent laptop replacement for Web browsing. The browser displays full-featured Web pages with photos, not those simple mobile Web pages. It is also a very good MP3 and video player. I also use it to make Skype calls and view PDF files on the go. The built-in camera has about the same quality as those in laptops. The tablet can save the wireless network setting and...

Nokia N800 Internet Tablet

Strengths: Skype, Convenience of use for travellers, huge development going on right now for apps

Weakness: unproven apps which can cause crashes and freezes

So far, I am VERY happy with my n800...have owned it for a couple weeks, and Skype works great!...perfect for travelling...avoid carrying a laptop...it's a pocketable device!...great for doing email...no word processing so far...built in camera hasn't been used yet...it's very cool, but Skype does NOT support it yet...bluetooth headset for skype is NOT supported (hopefully soon!)..the developer...

Impressive device by Nokia! Good job!

Strengths: 1. make VOIP phone call through Skype in N800 2. Access to the internet anytime where WiFi is found and check emails too. 3. Listening to music or watch videos on big screen at anytime and anywhere

Weakness: 1. Don't have MSN client 2. Opera in N800 doesn't support Asian languages by default 3. system can't display eastern asian languages either 4. not well support for MS office documents

Finally a improved version of N770 has been released - N800. This is a great device which allows you to surf internet and check email anywhere within wifi spot. Also, if you have a skype account, it allows you to make VOIP for free in US and Canada (you need to purchase a plan from Skype for $30 a year). This device is developed under open source Linux system which allows people to develop many...

Impressive Internet Tablet

Strengths: Long battery life, crisp display, free open-source applications, relatively fast performance, Wifi and Bluetooth built-in, memory expandable to 4GB (potentially more), lightweight.

Weakness: Poorly designed carrying pouch included, VGA-only camera, can be easier to use (Linux OS).

I've read numerous reviews of the Nokia N800 and decided to finally take the plunge recently and purchased one for myself. The device is solidly built, has a metal casing front and back, and has a nice heft to it when you hold in your hands. The angular stylus is not very comfortable but nonetheless adequate. The Opera browser performs fairly quickly, and renders most web pages as faithfully as...

This device performs as advertised, I love it!

Strengths: High-resolution display, Web Browser (Opera 8) with Flash player (v7) which makes web browsing and emailing easy to view and use

Weakness: Battery power only lasts for about two hours with heavy use, specifications list three hours

I have been using the Nokia 770 at work for more then six months and we upgraded to the Nokia N800 Internet Table two weeks ago. I liked it so much I just bought one for my son. This is an upgraded version of the 770. The N800 has a smooth metallic front, with a black back and a swing down stand. A very compact thin design and weights just over 7 ounces which is a lighter than before. The overall...

Laptop replacement. Small 4 inch screen can be...

Strengths: Snappy performance on par with Pentium M 1.7 mhz laptop. Video performance improved over CES show clip with new OS. Lite, easy to carry, Internet is right there.

Weakness: Wish it had x86 chip so I could use one of the 1000s of open source Linux software already out there. Need abiword or similar wp ported over to ARM chip.

If you go through airport security a lot, you'll appreciate this little guy – saves you from lugging your laptop out. Also has all the web functionality of a laptop without all the bulk. I bought this on a recent vacation where I wanted to leave my laptop at home. If I had had one of these before I left, I wouldn't have brought the laptop with me. Improved video performance with updated OS...

Nokia N800 Internet

Strengths: It's thin and light. The screen is clear. Zooming in on web pages is easy because there are buttons for zooming in and out on top of the device. It boots in 5 seconds.

Weakness: The screen is small, so reading text can be hard. Opera, its Internet browser, displayed gmail so that I had to scroll to the right to sign in.

It gets you on the internet fast. The web page viewing experience is worse than on a big screen device, though. This device can use a phone as a modem to get EVDO connectivity.

The best device for web , email, voip calls and MORE!

Strengths: Unbelievable experience! its like taking my pc on the road everyone should own one of these! Go NOKIA!

Weakness: Needs more internal memory! but just got a 2 gig sd card...

If you want a computer that is small that can really do what your pc does then pick this up wifi and bluetooth- totally cool!! and the girls love it! MOVIES AND MUSIC WORK UNBELIEVABLE ON THIS!

Disappointing item - I would not buy another one

Strengths: Very nice screen for its size; easy to carry; great battery life when the con mentioned below is not an issue.

Weakness: Screen discoloring; automatically turns on & kills battery; contact import utility not working; not compatible /w Google doc/spreadsheets; no approved CJK support; few useful apps

This unit gets lots of glowing write-ups from Thoughtfix and a few others. For those who must have a browser while they are on the can or cooking in the kitchen, I guess it has some value. However: * without a way to run Google docs, spreadsheet, and translation; * without hacking tools to open softly closed networks; * without functioning N800 utilities; * without accurate and detailed...

Nokia N800

Strengths: Large high-res screen, thin, good speakers, replaceable battery

Weakness: Difficult to remove the external memory card and internal battery. No Skype

This Nokia N800 is a well-built device with good stereo speakers, nice screen (4.13"). However, it can be hard to remove the external memory card from its slot due to the lack of spring design. Also, right now there's no Skype support or MSN messanger.

Nokia N800 Internet Tablet

There's something refreshing about a portable device that doesn't try to be everything-and instead focuses on a couple of key features. Such is the case with Nokia's second-generation N800 Internet Tablet. It was designed to provide a near-desktop-quality Web browsing experience through a Wi-Fi connection that's easy to set up. It also lets you stay in touch through Voice-over-IP calling with...
